The creation of DHRICMV was incredibly personal for Matt, as it delves into his experiences with love, past relationships and illustrates the highs and lows of his inner-world. The road to the album began in 2023, where he experienced significant financial uncertainty, but decided to take a risk, buy equipment, and pursue what was in his heart. Influenced by the likes of The Velvet Underground and Oasis, minus32heartbeat has skillfully crafted a distinct soundscape with his vulnerable songwriting and stellar compositions. This is illustrated in stand out tracks, ‘Smile and Slide Away’ which explores the bittersweet emotions that linger from past relationships, and ‘This City Shines So Bright’ which is a beautiful ode to New York with an indie rock influence.
