Tempesst announce third album Forbidden Fruit and brand new single ‘Long Way Down’

Tempesst headline London’s Village Underground, 21st March 2025

Today East London’s Tempesst release brand new single ‘Long Way Down’ and announce third LP Forbidden Fruit via Pony Recordings/The Orchard (Halloweens, Sunglasses for Jaws, Avice Caro) to be released on the 29th November.

Returning just one year after the release of their sophomore record Prisoner of Desire, Tempesst have established themselves as a mainstay of London’s Alternative Indie Scene, booking their next headline show at London’s Village Underground in March. Tempesst will also be joining Australian rock group JET on their upcoming UK/IE tour as main support this October.

New single ‘Long Way Down’ chronicles the inevitable demise of a relationship, guiding the listener to the precipice and into the unknown. Reminiscent of 90’s R.E.M, slinky guitars weave through the song in a drunken stupor whilst writer Toma Banjanin’s soliloquy reverberates in an echo chamber. ‘Long Way Down’ is devastatingly hopeful, the pain of closing one door and the anticipation of opening the next.

About Tempesst:

Tempesst are twin brothers Toma (vocals & guitars) and Andy (drums) Banjanin, Eric Weber (guitars) and Blake Misipeka (bass).

In 2020 they released their debut LP ‘Must be a dream’ (2020), receiving positive coverage in the mainstream press (NME, DIY) and were reviewed by The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk and The FT. They were played on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio London. Toma was interviewed live on BBC Radio 1 by Jack Saunders and Tempesst was named BBC Future Artist. The album has gone on to stream in the millions.

Tempesst returned in 2023 with ‘Prisoner of Desire’, receiving positive coverage in the media with feature pieces in the Rolling Stone, Dork, Clash, Clunk and The Line of Best Fit. The Prisoner of Desire tour was the band’s largest to date, with a landmark performance at London’s Islington Assembly Hall and sold out shows in Manchester, Paris and Berlin.
