Indie Folk Band Whippoorwill Share Their New Song ‘California’ From The Upcoming Album Nature of Storms

Whippoorwill have shared their new song ‘California’ from the upcoming album Nature of Storms expected via self-release November 15th. Alternative folk-rock trio, Whippoorwill, expressed, “These songs were birthed of storms,” says Whippoorwill vocalist Alysia Kraft. The album came to fruition while the trio actually weathered different types of storms as the band endured cyclones, tornados, floods, forest fires and whiteouts while on tour. It also came to actualisation through political and personal storms, working through turmoil in their personal lives.

The Nature of Storms came as a necessary catharsis, it captures the relief of making it through trials that forced you to examine every fibre of your being. Whippoorwill are Alysia Kraft (guitar, vocals), Staci Foster (guitar, banjo, harmonica, vocals), and Tobias Bank (drums, vocals). The band spent two years touring and producing their unique sound always landing in the grittier side of country and folk.

Their assorted influences keep Whippoorwill on the edge of country, rock and folk. Their debut album earned nominations from Wyoming Public Radio and Colorado Playlist’s Best Albums of the Year. With their chemistry and fiery live shows, they have become Colorado gems. We eagerly await their new album The Nature of Storms due later this year.
