Juan El Grande is a Belgian singer-songwriter who released his debut EP DISCOVER NOW on August 1st 2024. Based in Spain, Juan has been inspired by music his entire life, and this debut EP showcases his talent as a songwriter and storyteller.
Juan emerged onto the scene in 2022 with his single ‘Father’, a beautiful ode to his father. Mostly inspired by the music of his youth, he lists Peter Frampton, Pink Floyd and Slade as influential figures. Describing himself as “a music lover through and through”, creating music was “a logical consequence” that arose from his lifelong passion.
The 5-track EP zooms in on Juan’s enthralling lyrics, supported by soothing basslines and percussion. In every track, El Grande tells a unique story, drawing the listener in while striking an emotional chord. The debut track expresses personal experiences, while he exhibits his imagination on ‘Another Hero’s Gone’, through a story about a Formula 1 driver who meets his fate. ‘Born To Be’ takes the position of a local bar songstress, and ‘Will 2 Play’ brings the listener back to Juan El Grande as he expresses his love of music and innate desire to take us on a musical journey. The EP’s latest single, ‘Locked Inside’, dives into the realities of prison life by taking a humorous stance, which El Grande describes as his very own “Jailhouse Rock”.
