Irish indie-rock trio The Burma return with a stunning full length album titled Crazy Dreams & Cruel Realities, released  on the 6th of October 2023 via their own label The Burma Music Group. The band is made up of Tony O Donovan (Vocals), Peter Piggott (Lead Guitar) and Cian Doherty (Drums). The band has received support from The Rolling Stone India, CLASH Magazine, NOTION Magazine, Hot Press, Atwood Magazine, and Medium.com/Pop Off, while gaining extensive airplay across Ireland, the UK, and the USA. Their single from this LP ‘Holiday’ has already premiered and received support from EARMILK

Crediting their influence to the 2000s American Indie scene, the band cites Tame Impala, The Strokes, and Mac Demarco as their main inspirations. Crazy Dreams & Cruel Realities is an indie-rock odyssey jam-packed with anthemic bangers and melancholic melodies; it is musically and emotionally captivating throughout. It’s instrumentation is full of movement and feeling, with sizzling synths, tight drumming, jangly guitars and O Donovan’s silvery – sometimes distorted – vocals. While his cadence is unmatched in its high-pitched velvety delivery, he lyrically explores universal topics of love and growth, while still invoking the emotional potency of personal experience.

We started writing and recording Crazy Dreams & Cruel Realities a couple of weeks after releasing our debut album last year,” the band says. “The first album was put together over a long period of time and features a few guest musicians who we’ve played with over the years. This album however, was written and performed solely by the three of us, so I think it’s a better representation of the band right now. When it came to picking a title we realized that there were two different types of songs on the album – half of them were light-hearted, dreamy pop songs and the other half had a darker, more serious mood to them. Tony came up with the title Crazy Dreams & Cruel Realities to reflect this duality on the album.”
