Seattle based rock quartet Thunderpussy unleashed their latest single, ‘I Can Do Better’ on March 29th, 2024. The group turned into a quiet phenomenon with the endorsement of Rolling Stone and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, as well as a string of already legendary performances under their high-waisted belts. Thunderpussy is everything you want in rock – raw, spontaneous, bombastic and outrageous, with the look, songs, musicianship and breathtaking live shows to boot.
In addition to their groundbreaking music, Thunderpussy is expanding their creative empire into the world of craft beer. Collaborating with Future Primitive Brewery, the band has already introduced the Thunderpussy IPA, with another brew in the pipeline. But that’s not all – they’re also brewing up a storm with an upcoming cider in collaboration with YONDER, a cidery proudly run and brewed by women. From stage to brewery, Thunderpussy is setting the scene on fire and building their beer empire, one sip at a time!
‘I Can Do Better’ is a soulful classic rock anthem brimming with passion and grit. Lead singer Molly Sides’ vocals ignite the track with a fervent intensity, while the band’s signature blend of soulful melodies and punk energy sets the stage for an electrifying experience. The track invites listeners to embrace the discomfort of growth and transformation. Like a bolt of lightning illuminating the night sky, the song serves as a powerful reminder that adversity can be a catalyst for change.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, the band shared: “’I Can Do Better’ showcases our own desire to ‘do better’ as individuals, as a band, as musicians, as friends, but from a human perspective fraught by shortcomings and old patterns. It’s a yearning for something unknown. It’s a yearning for something unknown. Have you ever fallen backwards into the snow to let the cold settle around your body, and the sting of the earth make its way into your bones? Trying to find patience in the discomfort? I Can Do Better is a reminder that sometimes all you need is a little sting to wake you up from the numbness. And that there is possibility in the storm.“
