Slovenian indie rockers Koala Voice have unveiled an infectious new single, ’Late For The Party’, released on the 13th of October 2023. Comprised of lead vocalist/guitarist Manca Trampuš, guitarist Domen Don Holc, drummer Miha Prašnikar and bass player Tilen Prašnikar, Koala Voice has a sound reminiscent of Paramore, Wolf Alice, and Phoebe Bridgers. Their impressive resume includes opening for American alt-rock legends Pixies, playing big venues and festivals like Exit Festival, winning a HEMI Music Award in 2022 and a Golden Flute Award in the category of Album of The Year for their 2021 project Plata. Additionally, the quartet has received support from a number of Slovenian publications and UK tastemaker DIY Magazine, and earned spins on a number of radio stations such as Val 202. To boot, they have accumulated 4 million streams across all platforms.
‘Late For The Party’ is upbeat and dance-ready with a delicious combination of rock and roll’s grit and disco’s funkiness. It features fast-paced drumming and blistering guitars over a busy, funky and filthy bassline. Vocals and ad-libs leap in and out of the fray, imparting wisdom and carefree reminders upon the listener, all cloaked in a distinctly punk attitude. With the guarantee of an injection of electric energy, ‘Late For The Party’ demands to be played loud – wherever you may be.
“‘Late For The Party’ is a piece with positive messages, lively beat and distortion driven guitars, best listened to while driving a car, “if you are late or not”, add Koala Voice.
