UK indie-alternative band Milo Gore has shared their latest single ‘Green Eyes’, which premiered via CLOUT Magazine. The single features on their upcoming album release, How Do You Cope While Grieving For The Living? (releasing the 20th of August 2020). The single was produced by Pete Prokopiw (Mumford & Sons, Florence & The Machine), Mixing Engineer Andy Savours (Sigur Ros, The Horrors, Arctic Monkeys) and Mastering Engineer Guy Davie (Jamie T, The Streets, King Krule).
The band formed at Falmouth University in Cornwall, with lead singer Milo’s guidance. ‘Green Eyes’ touches on the album’s topics of love, loss, drug addiction as well as Milo’s struggle with mental health. You can hear the sincerity in lead singer Milo’s vocals and lyrics, and you feel emotionally connected to the world of the song. The buoyant guitar riffs, and pounding drums provide a bit of relief to the emotionally raw and confessional lyrics. Milo Gore draw inspiration from artists like Girl in Red, Penelope Isles, 1975, Bears Den and Idles.
Milo Gore explains the single, “’Green Eyes’ is a tale of love and loss. It is a song about learning to dance on your own again. Learning to love yourself again, learning to be happy again, and ultimately content with being alone. It discusses the moment when the one you love has gone from your life, and you are forced into learning to love yourself, and the others around you, once again.
