Valley Onda, the Sydney indie outfit, put out ‘‘Reebok Fantasy’‘ on September 12, 2025, via Valley Onda Records. Following ‘‘Minacious’‘ and its spotlight on CLASH Magazine, they’ve hit 350,000+ streams since their 2019 debut, with their reflective alternative rock grabbing attention from triple j, The AU Review, Happy Mag, Where The Music Meets, and Clunk Mag. They’ve also hit the road nationally with The Money War and Brightness. Comprising Jordan Wilson (vocals/guitar, ex-Georgia Fair opener for Paul Kelly, Laurel, and John Mayer), Michiya Nagai (keys, from Lamalo‘s big shows at The Grass is Greener and TEDx Melbourne scoring), and Galen Sultmann (drums), the Gadigal-area band formed in a casual eatery after tours. Jordan and Galen‘s early sessions grew with Michiya‘s classical training, forging an indie rock blend inspired by Radiohead, Alt-J, Mansionair, Bon Iver, Muse, and Gorillaz, echoing vibes for REM, Cage The Elephant, and The Verve fans.
The track ‘‘Reebok Fantasy’‘ delivers a moody indie rock arc, easing from tight restraint into a bold surge. With Jordan‘s forceful singing at the helm, simple acoustic elements and light, echoing tones add a remote, pondering layer to the words.
Valley Onda shared: “Do you know that feeling when you’re walking down the street feeling isolated and everyone else is looking cool in their designer clothing? So you pull into a Nepalese Restaurant and order a tea to hide out for a minute. Maybe open a paperback or meet someone interesting. That’s the vibe of ‘Reebok Fantasy’.”
